Service Type: Subsea Engineering services to be deployed by a Nigerian National.
Service Description
- Promote Safety culture and drive Goal Zero compliance at the worksite.
- Enforce HSE policies and procedures at worksites.
- Review documents issued by the contractor for the Scope of Work relevant to the Subsea manifold & Connection Systems.
- Participate in Design Reviews, Technical Workshops, and any other Meetings as assigned in the Scope of Work.
- Review and disposition Deviation/Derogation Requests, and Technical Queries from the contractor.
- Supervise manufacturing/fabrication of rigid subsea well jumpers and associated structures, ensuring compliance with procedures, design documentation, approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), and validation through testing.
- Oversee long lead items and other materials/goods receipt, inspection, and verification checks.
- Oversee implementation of contractor’s Procedure Qualification (including welding, NDE, and coating qualification tests) at worksites.
- Ensure Materials Record Book (including Certificates of Conformance and other technical documentation) are available prior to loadout of equipment.
- Liaise with EPC-3’s logistics team at the Local Fabrication Site to support timely transportation of equipment to the quayside and safe loadout.
- Ensure proper storage of subsea Equipment, tools, and accessories per Contractor’s storage and maintenance procedure.
- Review and provide input to Assembly and Testing Procedure, Transportation Handling Instruction, Installation, and offshore Testing Procedure.
- Liaise with Company’s Lifting and Hoisting SME to review lift plans, rigging register, and support safe lifting operations.
- Supervise activities at the EPC-3 Local Fabrication Site and confirm compliance with the approved procedure, including Site Receipt Inspection, Factory Acceptance Test, Extended Factory Acceptance Test, and System Integration Test.
- Work with EPC-3 Contractor to ensure quality issues are properly identified, documented, and timely dispositioned.
- Provide regular status and progress reports of activities to the Lead Engineer.
- Log and track lessons learned during the detailed design and manufacturing activities within the Package.
- Collaborate with EPC-3’s Workshop, Planning, QC, Warehouse, and other support teams during execution of the manifold and Jumper scope to drive compliance with project requirements and agreed schedule and key dates.
- Responsible for safe and efficient execution of work scope and drive its timely completion, per contract and procedures.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., project, asset & operations, Wells, marine logistics, geomatics, aviation, diving) to ensure adequate support for project execution.
- Contribute to Close-out Report relevant to the Subsea manifold and Connection Systems.
- Oversee engineering analysis, creation of drawings, fabrication, and testing procedures (Welding, NDE, Coating), and other design outputs for construction.
- Participate in Design Reviews, HAZOPS, and HAZIDS.
- Review and maintain installation, operation, and maintenance manuals and guidelines.
- Review, check, and approve drawings for construction at worksites.
- Oversee implementation of contractor’s Procedure Qualification (including welding, NDE, and coating qualification tests) at worksites.
- Lead Root-Cause-Failure Analysis (RCFA), report-out, and implement preventive and proactive actions close-out.
- Share knowledge across the company and identify and champion best practices.
- Monitor manufacturing activities at various worksites and ensure appropriate witness, review, and approvals by Company representatives per approved project inspection and test plans.
- Support the development of young personnel.
- The service will involve work and travel to fabrication sites, OEM facilities, and offshore vessels in the Gulf of Guinea.
Requisite Qualifications
- At least 15 years of combined experience in engineering, manufacturing/fabrication, and installation of subsea manifold and tie-in systems (Subsea rigid Jumpers and Connection Systems).
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Marine Engineering, or a Master in Subsea Engineering related discipline.
- Practical experience in Connection Systems (Hubs and Connectors) engineering and manufacturing processes of the Subsea Hardware systems.
- Practical experience in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic design of subsea products.
- Practical experience as Company/Operator Representation in similar type project execution.
- Practical experience in integration and testing of pressure-containing components such as pipe, forged fittings, valves, and hubs.
- Practical experience in the use of CAD for models, drawings, and schematics.
- Good understanding and practical application of industry standards and codes related to subsea hardware and systems, including API-RP-17R, API6A & 17D, ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.8, API-RP-17H, API RP-17P, API RP-17R, API-RP-2A-WSD, AWS-D1.1, DNV-RP-F119, and other ISO, DNV, and NORSOK equivalent standards in major subsea projects.
- Knowledge in the use of MS Office tools or similar software.
- Practical experience in working with OEM technicians and engineers to resolve technical issues.
- Ability to communicate, work, interface, interact, and influence effectively within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals located globally.
